Apparently I'm the only person here who still watches that.

You might be familiar with Studio Pierrot's practice of occasionally handing over artistic control of Naruto to guest directors/key animators/etc for significant episodes with sometimes polarizing results. My cap is from a current filler arc that started in Shippuden 290 that is less of a filler arc and more of a not-really-canon miniseries with a dramatically different style and tone. It has characters with actual human problems, isn't as dumb as rocks, and has far more than its fair share of actual animation - including lots of the kind of thing that would end up in an action AMV. I almost wish it was an unrelated standalone OVA series because it'd be a lot easier to recommend to people than Naruto
