The best ever is...
Hands down.. Kintaro Oe from Golden Boy is the best anime character.

My favorite is Haruko from FLCL. She is such a self-serving selfish character, yet she's incredibly lovable and fun. She's a metaphor for love: it gives you pleasure, but it can also give you pain in high amounts. Which, of course, works towards Naota's development in the anime. She's just a very well-designed character. She's also one of the few anime females who isn't there for eye candy.

Well, I think what he meant by that is, since throughout Evangelion the Angels are seen as the enemy, they're the evil of the series. Well, Kaoru's an angel, right? 'Nuff said.

My favorite character of all time is Inuyasha, but I love Julia from Cowboy Bebop because she is so pretty. Also, the scary Russian assasin from Gunsmith Cats is one crazy villian!
