So very true. I usually don't buy series DVDs individually unless it's a short series, I generally wait for the box sets. I'll probably be doing the same for Naruto, but I just can't wait to get my hands on them!
I wouldn't mind waiting for a Naruto box set that will come out in like 2010.

That's a total exaggeration. I'm not waiting for one big box set of the whole series(me assumes that's what you think), I'm waiting for the more typical type of box sets they usually release for long series. If your not too sure what I mean by saying those "typical type of box sets", then I'm guessing your probably one of those people that spends tones of money on series as they come out, and never bother to realize how much money you'll be saving by getting the box set.

I actually by box sets a lot. Mostly on ebay. The whole naruto thing was a joke, hence the little laughing icon. I wasn't trying to be a dick or anything.

Doesn't look like anyone has a pre-link yet, but it's probably a given.

However, the availability of the boxset could be put off until fall at the earliest to try and get as many sales of the individual titles as possible until the sales start to drop off.

If we follow the last pattern, and that Evangelion is still a very hot property, the release of a complete set would occur sometime during next holiday season, when ADV and others put out a majority of their boxset releases (like they did for the prior holiday season).

(But, I'm in insurance, not marketing, so take the above as a fan's speculation based on last year's ebb and flow of complete boxsets.)

But do they ever release complete box sets of series which originally included a Volume 1 Plus Box?

ADV is releasing RahXephon and FMP complete collections this spring, which as far as I know will be in thinpaks with a cardboard box. Noir set should be coming soon too.

Yes. Argentosoma, Witch Hunter Robin, Berserk, Samurai Deeper Kyo, and there is probably even more.

They were going to rerelease Noir, RahXephon, and FMP as both regular and HD in one box, but ADV Films has since then delayed all three of the rereleases (although the source mentions that this is more of an "indefinite delay", or cancellaton).

Here is the thread over on ANN that discussed this:
