Over what? Opinions of a movie that range from "I really enjoyed it", to "It's not _that_ great"? There are much more worthwhile (and interesting) flamewars that could happen. I liked it. It was so emotional. Im surprised that a single man can make such an emotional movie. The did suck but thats ok because it was a beauitful story. I almosted cried during it.

From what I've seen, the creator's new ova "Beyond the Clouds" far surpases Hoshi no Koe. Hell I want to see it for the eye candy alone when the first fansubs show up.

Of course it's anime. I mean, look at the dewy eyes. Do those not scream, "I am on crack"? And therefore, do they not scream "I am an example of early anime"?

(Best Godzilla movie in existence, for the record, is the immortal classic "Bambi vs. Godzilla." I don't remember which of the many Godzilla movies it preceded--it was on a video before one--but I'm sure that with a little digging around it's findable).

Anyway, back on topic... I liked Hoshi no Koe. Though I did wonder about some of the technical aspects of communication speeds, I thought the emotions were realistic... and that's what matters to me most in a lot of series, especially short ones. If I can believe the characters, then I can ignore the technical aspects for the most part...
