Nope, there is still Clamp that cannot be quite called Safe. Chobits, from all perspectives, is quite risque.

On the other hand, Angelic Layer's got to be a good one. Has the manga been translated for that yet?
Yup. By Tokyopop, I believe.

Angelic Layer: http://www.tokyopop.com/dbpage.php?prop ... rycode=BMG

Check out Tokyopop for other stuff as well. They release a lot of cool manga. :)

I know hehe. However, on principle and because I enjoy the challenge of reading japanese, I prefer hunting down the originals and reading 'em like that. 8)

I'll suggest that to my not-so-Japanese-iterate friends though.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Hmm...needless to say it's easier for me to find English manga, and since I read the novels in like 20 minutes I'd probably go nuts trying to translate them. (I read naturally fast and quite frankly I always want to know the end...I hate being left hanging....)

But cool, Translating that is...kind of like me and my boycott of dubs...lol...

I ever so slowly will learn Japanese  tis my mission....mwaha...

Take it in college/university - that usually helps.

As for Initial D - no, strangely, it's never been near the top of my list. However, I really like the anime (enough to make my only AMV to date on it :P) .

Actually, there's a good 'safe' manga there (at least it would seem so, from what I know of the anime...)

Take it as part of your liberal arts requirements in college. That's what I'm going to do.

Mmmhhmmm...I want to go to University of Carleton...I have yet to look into Japanese yet though....I'm too busy figuring out what I'd be doing in the program that I want to go into (i.e Journalism, magazine specifically).
Yet it definately is something to look into.

Carleton... is that somewhere near Ottawa?

Well, if Journalism is part of Humanities, there's usually a requirement to take an entire credit (two semesters) of a language during your studies. That's how it is here, anyways, and given that you're probably talking about the same province...

Yep Carleton's in Ottawa and I believe isn't too far from U. Ottawa...well see how my university marks go though....it's kind of discouraging when your brother went from a 98% to 50% in Environmental Chemical Engineering at U.Waterloo....

*sniffle* I don't want my nice 90's to disappear...because if I need an average booster of some sort of language, it would probably make more sense to take French, being that I'm billingual and all...but still, I'd love to take Japanese...and not only for the anime side of it all...it's such a beautiful language...and I want to be able to sing in it as well.
