Well, the way that i look at it, if they wanted to make a second series, they probably would have done so by now.

I think UncleMilo covered it pretty well, but to reiterate:

Did you guys not watch Cowboy Bebop or just not pay attention? Spike is dead. If he doesn't die the entire show goes to hell. It was inferred the entire show that he would die. Also him, Julia and Vicious are related, the moment Julia died, Spike and Vicious were goners. Why do you think Faye wanted him to stay, she knew he was going to go kill Vicious and die as well.

Did you guys need them to spell it out (even though they more or less did)?

He's dead, deal with it. Cowboy Bebop has finished, deal with it. Sorry to be so harsh, but I am sort of sick of hearing this just like I'm sick of hearing about Eva series 2 and junk. Some things are fine the way they are and don't need additional information/story.

Eva's done, that's fine by me...

Cowboy Bebop... Hmmmm...
However! There could be a spinoff I think that could be worth covering... It all depends on some "unanswered" questions... Faye Valentine and Jet had quite a past behind them. I miss Ed and Ein, those two cracked me up...

If not a continuation [which as many of you said would probably butcher this series,] a 3 part oav or something would be good as a little "extra" to it's millions of seething fans that want more.

An OAV that explains the origins of Faye Valentine [greater detail would help]... OR

A little something like "What happened AFTER Spike's death?" Did the Bebop just up and disband? [considering there's not many members on it anymore, that wouldn't be too hard would it?]

I for one wouldn't mind seeing just a little "bonus" stuff thrown at the fans to tell us. Would any of Spike's friends visit a grave for instance? Reminiscence OAV extra? Just wondering... Nothing more. I'm not as "into" this series as other people are... ^_^

ah, but spike does say "I'm not going there to die", so they did leave the possibilty of him being alive

i mean, he is spike,

*******BERSERK SPOILERS**************

and i really hate psuedo happy endings, its either gotta be a horribly bad guy wins ending (like berserk with femto becoming a god and the entire band being slaughtered, and gatts loosing his arm and caska getting rapped by demons and such), or its gotta be a nice happy ending

i cant stand in the middle :?

Spike is dead, he was dead from the very beginning of the series. Now abou the OVA's I would like to see more about Spike and Julia. How did there relationship evolve, how were they found out...you know the details.

I command that they make more !!

I'm afraid I haven't read all this thoroughly, but I would like to argue against the Faye origin idea. It’s important that we don’t know what the exact circumstances of her birth and childhood are. Faye’s past has left no traces for her to cling to, and the measly scraps of it we are given underline this. Nothing but sepia ghosts and dusty ruins.

Someone once suggested a spin-off about the legendary bounty hunter Terpsichore, late husband of “Heavy Metal Queen”’s V.T.. It’d be to Bebop what Angel Links is to Outlaw Star. At least I think so. I haven’t seen Angel Links yet.

That’s the first idea I’ve heard I have no reservations with. Not that I think it’ll happen, mind.

We know this much about FAYE

1) She came from a wealthy family
2) She went to a private school
3) She was on the starship that caused the gate disaster.

>When I say caused, I simply mean that when the gate was activated for the ship's use, it was the fatal activation that resulted in the disaster.

More on this - I get the idea that the trip Faye was on was the first consumer use of the Gates. I don't know why... as there is no proof of this fact.
However... it was shown in the course of the series that the company that built the gates knew that there was a flaw in the system that could result in some sort of disaster... but they chose to ignore it (since fixing it would have cost them big bucks) - This was all established in the Chess-Master-Hex episode. Chess Master Hex set his revenge in course 50 years ago... back when he was ignored... so the Gate Disaster only happened 50 years ago or so... which makes sense, since Faye's school time friend was simply old... not ancient or long dead.

It only makes sense that a consumer ride to other planets by use of the gates (before the gate disaster) must have been very expensive (just like the earliest of plane trips) and since Faye's parents were wealthy, it only makes sense that they would be among the first to take advantage of such a trip. (Again... a status thing... just like when planes were first about)

I don't know if any of Faye's family was with her, but clearly some of her family were not in the flight...

which brings us to

4) Faye was seriously injured in the accident... and put into stasis until medicine could repair her... God only knows how badly she must have been injured...
5) Faye's parents were killed sometime there after when a chunk of moon smashed into the house. Thus, no one came to look for her, no one came to pay her medical bills, and over the course of time, most records were probably lost.
6) Faye was revived by a Doctor, who clearly had medical knowledge... we can assume that since Whitney and the Doctor were related, that the Doctor simply figured he would revive Faye and use her as a scapegoat to get Whitney off the hook with his debts... What did they care about Faye anyway?
7) Faye had no knowledge of who she was... and she had been betrayed (which is really the first experience of her new life... and just has been on the run ever since.

I'd like to know a little more about Faye's family...

but as Spike said to Faye - who cares what your past is? All that matters is that you have a future.

Too bad Spike couldn't take his own advice...
He couldn't let go of his past... and in the end he died

YES. Spike is dead.

Indeed and what if Spike lived? Nothing much for him to do, other than the fact that he would be the leader of the Syndicate, having executed their leader, Vicious.

Now I would really like to see a prequal series involving Spikes time in the syndicate. There we'd at least get to see more Julia and further background story for goodness sake.
