Isn't that a good reason to give it a BAD review.

Bland characters and super DORK kid who gets to "sex0r" all the babes.

Telling all the dorky jap children that they can go and have hot sex0rz with the hot girlz is a flat out lie :O

and that kid is a stupid head and he sucks and the idea that they are jus high schooler who are rebels and know how to drive and stupid family people don't know how to drive and the whole concept is stupid.

Just stupid...

>_<

Argh god it's a stupid anime....

Ah, your point is noted, however, eX-Driver doesn't need these flames coming from someone who's in love with an anime whore from a show that's so poor the ending flopped onto its ass ^_^ Shinji could have practically "assualted" Misato right out of the shower btw...

Let's continue... [big apology for dragging my behind]

The quality of the show is rather "bleh". After ripping them into my cpu, there's a little bit of noise. Unlike Real Bout High School, whose quality r0x0rs my b0x0rs. Still, it's DVD quality with a low level of noise and there's very little color "bleeding" from area to area.

Sound-wise, I SOO WISH this anime had Initial D music. The music it comes with isn't anything to write home about. However, the sounds from the cars were recorded from the real versions of themselves on a racetrack. Either that or the "making of eX-Driver" extra section is a lie. ^_^

Action moves along rather quickly in this area. It's only 6 eps so for those of you looking for extreme character growth and story might as well go back to your 26 ep favorites. The car action itself is quite nasty. Imagine 2 cars practically doing a "skid tango" at 130+ mph down a CURVED highway. [yes it's fake, but holy mama does it look badass] You want a little bit of marksmanship? These characters can shoot at moving vehicles while chasing them with EITHER hand. WOOT, how's that for skill. We also get to see flying cars that go [smash] ^_^

Ok, it's by Media Blasters. 2nd, it's recording studio is Bang Zoom Entertainment. This to me means, GOOD dub. The voices many should recognize from Pioneer. Those of you Lia Sargent fans [I'm one of them] will get a hoot out of Lisa. [which in the anime is spelled "Risa", wtf?] The dub overall is above decent and the phallic sexual reference gag in episode 3, or was it 4? had me laughing my arse off.

In terms of CG special FX, be proud. There ISN'T any. If you were to watch the making of this anime in the "extras" section, they'd explain why they decided in the end to avoid cg altogether. They probably used cpus for coloring, but no Ghost in the Shell TV or Vandread overhauls will be seen here.

At only 6 eps, I don't see too much effort by the producers placed into this show. Still, I must say I'm impressed by the extras section of this DVD(s) Not many anime come with this type of "showing" very often and I'm glad I got this thing. Thanks to you Hitori, I'm now $50 poorer...

Overall, since klinky so kindly threw in his flames ^_^ this is NOT an anime for everybody. I like an anime's character design, but like some diehard fans, the story can mean a large chunk of an anime's rating. The story here however has a nice mellow ending and the intro is quite good. Showing off the newly introduced teammember as a [spoiler hidden *********] heh heh.

Reviewably, this anime is rather weak. 6 eps, no major buildup, and only 1 SHOWER SCENE! [argh!] It's censored too... Still, for a quick blast of concrete and car anime, this show can't lose.

I'd recommend this DVD set for the less $ income otaku. [like me] I was surprised that I was done by DVD 2 and I'm glad I didn't have to fork out for like 30 DVDs... [I shall pray for all you Diehard Inu Yasha fans who have decided to purchase the domestic Vid Video dvds which sell for over 30 usually and have only 3 FREAKIN' EPS] If you're a fan of the sexy character design from Fujishima and didn't like the Initial D character design [or just like Initial D in general] then this anime is just fine.

If you're like klinky [I think most of you are not... *whew] DO NOT get this anime if you're looking for a more mature set up. My vote for a mature likeable story setup lies in Ai Yori Aoshi. Also, if you want a BIG LONG series with a better character development setup, heck, there's some HENTAI out there with bigger character development than this...

Ok, the scoring...

Originality: 7
Capture: 7
Sound: 5
Action: 8
Digital FX: n/a
Lip Synch: 9
Effort: 7
Overall: 8
Reviewable: 5 [watch only if I'm bored, yes...]

PLEASE HITORI, HELP ME OUT HERE! [sniffle... ]

The movie uses Vandread-like CG cars. :D
