Pluto isn't a planet anymore...

that is igorent y would they take pluto out it is too small i mean look at merucarey it is smaller and don't they have more importainat things that t osee if pluto is a planet i mean come on wut is up wit that

Size has nothing to do with it. It's the eliptical orbit and the irregular shape... and the resistance to remove 1 planet was less than the resistance to add another 2.

Also, sentence coherence is important for someone debating the legitimacy of scientific edicts.

there all called dwarf planets now - including pluto

Which makes them, oddly enough, still planets. Just planets that don't count.

I don't quite know the logistics of it, but what I keep hearing is that Pluto has been disqualified as a planet primarily because it has an intersecting orbit with another "planet" orbiting the Sun. The other "planet" is Neptune. If Pluto shares an area of orbit with Neptune, then wouldn't also disqualify Neputune as a "planet?" Neptune is pretty big though. I'll miss Pluto.

What's next? Jupiter will be classified as a "Gas Giant?"

Well now we will have more to talk about what IS actaully a planet and what's not. Then again maybe Naoki-san will re-do Sailor Moon again

Pluto intersects Neptune's orbit, in other words, Pluto will some times be the 8th planet in the Solar System, and sometimes it'll be the 9th planet. I think Pluto was the 8th planet until 1999, then it finally returned back being 9th. I would've gone back to being 8th around 2050 or so I think, that would've caused problems.

Well, if they went by the old planet labeling system, then they were considering adding 3 more planets to our Solar System. Ceres, Charon (Pluto's moon), and 2003 UB313 (aka Xena or Proserpina).

I think they're all a bunch of lazy bastards. Instead of adding 2 more they take away one. Like mentioned before, whenever I have kids they're going to know the so called 9th planet as pluto.. then have some crazy ass teacher tellin me wrong. Pluto has land mass, and some how a ball of gas is allowed to be a planet?

Whats wrong with our society today -_-
