*points left* Garylisk, it's my second favorite series. It's tons o fun. But I've heard that most people who like it are "fanboys", and since there isn't any giant bazoomage (just believable bazoomage) or nudity in the series, I still wonder what they're fanboys of. :P I'll just try not to think about it.

That said, errrr, I don't really have any interest in volleyball fanservice games, but thanks. ;)

I'm a fanboy of the fact that it's one of the funniest series's I've ever seen, japanese or american, animated or live action. It is just too damn funny. Seems like every time Osaka so much as opens her mouth, something hilarious pops out. And the cat biting Sakaki! That just never, ever gets old.

I don't see how it could even compare to family guy in the comedy department.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

I agree. Azumanga Daioh is definitely more highbrow.

And what's wrong with fanboys liking a show without fanservice? It's probably the essence of fan(-boy)dom, being crazy about a show because of things like plot and content, not bullets and mammary matter.

wouldn't high-brow be the opposite of low-brow? In that case, wouldn't high-brow generally be considered better? I like it better anyway. Crude toilet-humor type jokes only go so far before they get lame.

I think most male anime fanboys are a lot less sexual than you might think. When I become attatched to a heroine, it's not usually for her body. It's for her heart, ya know? The character could be completely sexy, but if she's got no heart and is annoying or something... I just can't go for that.
Case in point: Naga ;)

Sarah I like cute more than anything else!!!! Azumanga is very funny and it's loaded with cuteness. I don't care about fanservice much at all.

Highbrow usually means boring :( I would say they are different kinds of humor don't ask me to decide which I like better.

I am a fanboy all the way and I love this show!

See? And he likes little girls, saying that the perv teacher is his hero. That's what I'd expect. :)

"For her heart" - which would mean the "cute" undemanding type. Oh sure, guys like that, especially anime fanboys. "Teehee, oops, my skirt just fell down! Oopsiepoo! *giggle giggle giggle*"

I heard mention of Azu H-manga or something in another thread, I think; that must be it.

Sarah why are you even in this forum??? You mean to tell you don't get all googly over fushigi yugi or utena or some such crap. Everything you have said all along has been negative. If you were the cute undemanding type maybe we would like you too. Instead you seem like the whiney, bitchy, moany, pmsing Hitler type who are no fun to be around because they are too worried about what other people are doing. There is a guy on this board who is as uptight as you his name is Uncle Milo maybe you and him should get hitched!!!
