Scryed would have been about 8 billion times better if the animation was a bit darker, the colors a bit blander, and the theming just a tad darker. Overall it was animated like a kids cartoon, but I still like it.

Full Metal Panic was announced by ADV back in April, as well as Angelic Layer.

Oh yes, it has. It's been licensed for a while by the same company that picked up Noir and Full Metal Panic.

I'm really not up on what's being licensed when, and I'm bored and up for trying something new. Is there anything in that unlicensed-or-unreleased-Stateside-yet-fansubbed gray area worth a look?

I'm willing to try out anything... except hardcore hentai, thanks, just not in the mood for that. :P
Anyone have word on Azumanga Daioh stateside licensing? I don't think anyone has picked it up yet. Anyhow, highly recommended. It's a wacky combination shoujo/shonen high school series. Very funny, great characters (from 10 year cute girl genius Chiyo to incompetent, hyper teacher Yukari-sensei), and nifty art. The fansubbers recently finished the series, so no next episode wait limbo.

I'm out...

Azumanga Daioh is not licensed yet.

Shows that are not licensed that kick ass...

Flame of Recca
Kodocha
(Both those shows are getting resubbed in high quality now, so watch for 'em! :) )

Full Moon wo Sagashite - Pretty kick ass shoujo
Samurai Deeper Kyo - Very kick ass action

That's my picks anyway.
Alcohol, Drugs, Overdrive, Noise, Neon Lights, Party People, Revolution

I thought I heard somewhere that flame of recca was recently picked up, but I'm probably wrong.
As for Kodomo no ocha, I've got up to episode 20 right now, do you think they are going to sub the entire series?
Are you down with the sound of the Devil's town?

Picked up one of Azumanga Daioh - thanks for the recommendation! Looks good. :D For once, a humor show that's not just "heh heh [insert self here] fell on some chix boobies. heh heh"

There are some various Kodomo no Omocha eps being translated by other places than Kodocha fansubs. I have found a couple of the later ones on some private website that took it upon themselves to do a couple...although not great quality. I have seen some rm files of these, eps in the 50's and 60's.

I have lost the site addys but they have to be floating around other places by now as .rm

The group that is now doing Kodocha is KTP (VIsit their IRC channel on DALnet - #Kodocha ) Anyway... THey are up to episode 20, they are gonna do the shole series. THey can do it so fast because they got permission from Friends of Sana to use their scripts. So basically, what they do is they get the Region 2 DVD's of Kodocha, and then use AVIsynth to open the VOBs in VirtualDub, overlay the subtitles using the Subtitler filter, and encode.

It's very simple and fast. Expect episode 21 before the end of the weekend :P
