Ok, whiny, what's YOUR ideal anime DVD price? $10? $5? $1? There's more to DVD and video prices than physical media cost. Anime costs more because of the reasons I outlined up above. Plus I should mention anime is still a mostly niche market here in the US, and as such, has tighter profit margins.

Is any of this getting through?

My ideal price is 20, I think that is more than fair, but guess what, *GASP* WITH A SEREIS LIKE KENSHIN 5 BUCKS A DISK WOULD STILL COME OUT TO OVER 200 DOLLARS, SO IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW LOW THE PRICE IS!

So the issue is that you can't afford all the Kenshin video goods at once? Or what?

Not just that I couldn't get it all at once, but that I couldn't get it at all. since you seem to be so devoted to buying your anime why dont you tell us what animes you own, and compare that to what animes you've downloaded.

So what are you saying Cat, that they shouldn't have so many DVD's for the series? I could care less if you download it, but don't bitch about its price when when you can get each DVD for under 20 bucks. That's like complaining about the price of food, since you have to eat alot for a year that means they should cut the price of food down really really low.

Yuu Yuu Hakusho (Downloaded first 3 eps for same reason as above) (HK)
Cowboy Bebop (Downloaded entire series as digisubs before it was liscensed) (HK)
Gundam 0080 (Never downloaded) (HK)
Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz (Downloaded cut OVA) (HK)

I've downloaded around 125GB of anime (Mostly digisubs) and archieved a lot of it on CD, but I haven't watched a lot of them, maybe only Ranma and DBZ.

You may not care, but anyone here that talks about an MP3 they downloaded gets flamed off the boards, by people who

A. have rich parents
or
B. have a job and the money to buy this stuff

and their logic is "If you can't buy it then don't watch it." And it is pretty easy to say this when you can buy the anime. but when you aren't swimming in cash you can't just up and buy any series you want.
