Before you do a post like this, can you please say it is a spoiler.

I have spent so long trying to ignore all references to Evangelion, so no one ruins it for me.

Luckily I read End of Evngelion and quickly went back..so no harm done.

In case your wondering, I haven't watched all of it yet as its currently being shown on the Sci-fi channel in England. Upto ep 20 now....not long left....

Well, you're pretty lucky Sushi2. You get to watch it on television. I 've trying to buy it, but as of late, I've been renting the DVDs. I don't what episode I'm up to, but it's the one where Shinji will finally find out who's the 4th child (a won't say who it is.

). Anyways, I've bought EoE and D&R. I can find individual episodes for sale, but i just want the whole set. And I don't have much to spend.

But I'm working on it, with my friend.

The proper term is worm, as it those bastards that crawl all over you driveway after it rains... Shinji just has issues, I loved the first half of EVA, but then it went straight to hell, I didn't like the ending, or the movies. They had such a great and intricate plot going and then they just threw it all aside for character developement.

Well lets be fair, the characters were crappy from the begining, and what could have turned out to have been development, was just backstory about why they are so stupid.

Actually, I believe he meant 'wurm,' which is like a dragon. This is assuming he meant Dungeons And Dragons when he said DND (D&D)

Shinji was never meant to be cool. He was made to be real. He doesn't have the cool and confident "I know I'll eventually come out of any situation I'm placed in no matter what the odds just for the cheap ass fact that I'm the hero of this story and the hero always wins" bullshit attitude that is so common in anime like Trigun and Dragon Ball.

I used Trigun because in the beggining of the series the man has four guns actually touching his head with another ten pointed straight at him while he smiled away and kept eating. The scene cuts to him running away while the legally blind townspeople fire hundreds of rounds at him and all miss. I know he's got skills but c'mon. It's more of a comic bend to his personality, like him dodging bullets while eating a sandwich. He doesn't have that feel of reality like shinji. He fought angels but put someone with a gun anywhere in the same vicinity as shinji and you got a dead shinji. He might be the hero but he's also human, mortal, and vulnerable.
