I don't think he meant "serves you right for perposely and evily buying bootlegs!" but rather "serves you right for buying bootlegs and falling for the obvious when anyone with half a brain who's been watching anime for more than a month is aware that these things called bootlegs exsist!".

Well.. yeah. 100 bucks... for probably all five seasons right? so at about 1.00 per episode you'd think alarm bells would go off.
I've seen some pretty slick packaging before, so I'm sure it's easy to be fooled (sometimes) but in this case.... well.
On the other hand.. now every time you see the show you'll think of the main chracter as Snakemaru.

ya, i had to go threw 30 eps. with translations like that. and some of the time thay didnt even use subs. thay were talking for like 5 minutes and no words came up. i had no idea what thay were saying ( well, i only understund the simple words like good, hate, fight and death) did you ever watch an anime with poor subbing?
Unless of course, it was dubbed in HK. Then by all means, bitch as much as you please.

Why must you guys be so mean...."sigh".....actually, I shouldn't be talking. Anyway, I think it's more appreciative to buy f-ed Chinese bootleged Naruto subs then downloading Dattebayo's. I would never get that Chinese shit, but it's more respectful.

I'd say that while the "spirit" was good, in that the HK dubs were purchased through ignorance; both are equally bad.Rurounikeitaro wrote:Anyway, I think it's more appreciative to buy f-ed Chinese bootleged Naruto subs then downloading Dattebayo's. The show has been licensed. This means that eventually, you will be able (theoretically) to buy the original product and have the money go to the studio. This makes them rich and arrogant, and thus fuels the cycle of having more creative anime produced, so that the next group can become rich and arrogant.
HK disks are such an insult to anyone who is actually a fan of a particular show that watching them is pure pain. I can't say how accurate the chinese text it, but that doesn't seem relevant here.
Fansubs at least are done by people who seem to care about what they're doing. The only real advantage (and it's a big one) is that you're still getting the original story if it's likely to be altered for the American market.
