Oh yeah, my kindd of topic.
Fullmetal alchemist.... come on, it starts ok, like manga like anime, but after a while, it all gets confused.......some charaters don't exist in the anime, some in the manga......the way greed is killed for example, differs a lot, and many many other things.........
What else, hmmmm that's the only manga i've read entirely so far (and zombie powder) but i don't know if there's an anime for that.....
I have gbs gull of manga but have yet to read it......
Kill all the spiders...and save the butterflies...
It's rational until you realize that by striving for it, you become a spider yourself... (Knives)

Knew I felt a little bit of déjà vu after reading this thread, here’s the other earlier one: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... highlight=
Tend not to be critical of the anime because nearly all are made after the manga starts and finished before the manga ends.
Not a good combination for timeline purists.
Personally like anime more and I only read manga to get the “back-story” or the details that may be missing in the anime.

The aspects of both productions are unique so comparing them wholly is impossible.

Moreover sometimes it’s actually anime or OVA first and then the manga, so the differences make sense.
Still believe in the creator’s freewill to do whatever they deem best because I want to see all there is to be offered.

In the end it’s not a case of being the anime being good or bad but your take on the whole “conversion” business.
As long as both co-exist (and they will), I’m good.
That's what I said in that thread and my opinion is still the same.

...or the "old and shouldn't be revived" threads. Someone (who shall not be named) started "necroposting" yesterday, it infuriated me to now end.

Bloody idiots

PS: The manga & anime aren't mean to be the same or even similar.

I agree that you can't really compare the manga and anime wholistically or directly, because of inherent differences between the two. Even so, I still like to compare them based on my own personal preferences.

Furthermore, I also generally prefer anime to manga. One major exception is Cowboy Bebop. I started watching the anime, then I read the manga, and I would have to say the manga was better (comparing the first few episodes). Now I don't care for the anime much, as it seems to be really slow-paced and dull by comparison. However, for most of the manga I have read, I have never seen the anime, and vice versa.

Finally, everyone here seems to like manga with plot differing greatly from the anime. I personally like it when the anime and manga are very similar (Cardcaptor Sakura, for instance) because it gives the same story, but with a slightly different take on it. As far as I'm concerned, if the manga is drastically different, than it might as well be a different series entirely. I guess what I'm trying to say is that rarely are the manga and anime completely identical, so the subtle differences offer a fresh perspective on a familiar story. Does this make sense to anyone else or am I just crazy?

There's going to be a new Ah! My Goddess TV show soon. Perhaps that will follow the manga more closely?

Anyway, I don't think it's a bad thing that manga and anime deviate from the same storyline. It's kind of like having alternate endings. And if you hate one, there's always the other.
