All good points...but I think the live WHR series might be okay, considering there's no extreme magic or sci-fi elements like Sailor Moon and Evangelion have (which would be why those two suck as live action...or WILL suck in Evangelion's case, but I won't go there. :P)

I think it sounds interesting! I definitely isn't as over the top as Sailor Moon, and as much of a Sailor Moon fan as I am even I have to admit that it has quite a lot of cheesiness. However, WHR isn't cheesy at all. It just might be worth a look.

Actually, If they do end up getting this live action out, I'll probably go see it myself. I admit, it does stand somewhat of a better chance than did Salior Moon (::cringes repetatively::) and, certainly, than Eva will (especially considering what I've seen not long ago on a website--the idiot producers want to "americanize" the charachter names, in some instances totally changing them!!! arrrrrrgh!) and other anime's in the past. However, there are still possibly some problematic magic effects to worry about. Robin's "firestorm" type effects are easy enough, but those of the various enemy witches might prove difficult depending on which witch(es) (pun intentional) they decide to use. I remember one witch for example, who was able to kill his victims by manipulating some wavelength of energy similar to microwave radiation (there's also the Ohgam sand seal movement effect very early on in one of the first episodes, I dobut they'd leave much from that time period out since its Robin's first attack sequence). So depeding on what route through the series they take, we might not be entirely out of the woods concerning special effects yet.

You said it: It all depends on which route the live-action series takes. Will it be a pick up where the series end (not to spoil anything, but this new series could CERTAINLY pick up where the anime left off...) or will it be a remake of the anime. Maybe a type of movie? Who knows. All I know is that they're SUPPOSE to show it on the Sci-Fi channel. :? Anyone got any more infor, please post! :D

If they used the same creative team behind the WITCHBLADE series, it will be awesome.

If they bring in people from show like FARSCAPE or STARGATE SG-1 or X-FILES, it could still be ok (if the follow the spirit of the show).

But you know they will approach doing it like a BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER or MUTANT X only substituting witches for vampires/mutants.

Buffy and MUTANT X... THE HORROR!!! Well let's hope they have atleast half of a collective brain and decide not to do that. Worst case scenario I suppose they might even bring in the creative minds behind their "sci-fi original" series/movies. Some of those have been ok but some have been awful :(. I'll keep my hopes up though, even though anime doesn't always get the attention it should when carried to the mainstream, this is the same network which used to show "Saturday Anime" (and consequently introduced me to my first anime--Iria, Zeriam The Animation). Come on Sci-Fi, don't let me down now.

Well, the guy who got the rights to creating the live-action WHR worked on the Star Trek: Next Generation series...as a writier, I believe. Not sure on that. Anyway, Star Trek: NG was pretty awesome story and character wise, so maybe there's hope. :D
