$200 for the box set ? here its $180 (which isnt much difference but, still). oh and, by the time the box set came out i allready had teh whole series as well as both movie

Mmm no, I meant including buying the two movies. The box set for me was 160, then the movies were both 20 each.

Sometimes the manga can feel too rushed, things seem to happen quicker than they should.

That's why I'm glad I got the fansub ahead of time.

And there is extended fighting scenes, that's not what the director's cut is about. so to whoever  coughed out dbz, EVA director's cut isn't even like that. The only fight scene that gets extended is the Rei blowing herself up scene and there is a reason for it. Not like they were actually fighting. It actually makes more sense then what they cut it down to.

I love it when people talk about something they haven't seen.

aw, i c
meh, i read slow, i even do dramatic pauses
i think the manga probably felt too quick because when you watch an episode, it takes roughtly 20 minutes, but you can take a shorter time reading a chapter in the manga.. so yeah, the timing is pretty different

if i tell you to buy the 5th season of Poke-mon, would you do that too?

it still boils down to whether or not you personally think it's worth it

it has everything you've already seen except it contains extra (as far as i know)

-couple minutes of extra footage
-commentaries
-interviews
-possible new translations on the subs

so it's still up to you... unless you want everyone to decided ur every life detail... which some of us wouldn't hesitate to do

I have not seen it yet but I plan to rent it soon. I don't know if this helps but the ending of eva was changed drasticly due to incresed cencoring brought about by it's incresing violence. read more at evamonkey here.

Yes exactly...that's been on my mind as well. i mean ive already seen those episodes before countless of times, but i have never had it on dvd...so i was thinking if i was to get them i might as well get the ones with footage that my friends and i havent seen yet....that should make them jealous   .

Ive seen some of those extra scenes on a few of the amvs already...but i hesitate to buy it if thats all the extra scenes they got. For those who have actually seen it entirely how much extra footage do you think there is..i mean is it like 5, 10, 15 minutes?

Of course there is that interview about the live eva movie...that should be interesting unless...those who have seen it dont think it gives really anymore insight into the movie?

One question, is there a director's cut for the entire series? If there is, that's unfortunate (in a good way) because I just bought the Director's Cut of the last DVD (thinking that was the only one).

From that one DVD, I would say it's worth it in a small way. Something any big Evangelion fan would want, but nothing too important just just a random anime fan. Eps 24 has a bunch of new clips but Eps 25 and 26 didn't really have anything. But the DVD includes a bunch of pics said to be artist impressions of the live-action movie. Also it actually has 6 episodes, the 3 original (eps 24, 25, 26) and the Director's Cut (eps 24, 25, 26). Though both have a darker and stronger colour scheme to them.
