I heard a rumour somewhere in the commentary of the DVD that the practice may have actually taken place somewhere in the series, but I kinda doubt it. Anyways, we've already discussed this question.

So no one's really sure about this "Idiot! You hit the enemy with your own smoke!" which is said by Misato. Hmmm... maybe I'll just assume that he actually shot smoke bombs, instead of real ammo. So instead of damaging the enemey, he just wasted his smoke cover. I suppose it makes a bit of sense.

She has no problem with being the Second Child.

As far as asuka is concerned, yeah she dont mind being the second child but wat really bugs her is the fact the Shinji is always beating up the angels and not her .. she screws up and then shinji takes over and finishes it of ... now thats her problem ... pride...
