It appears that the booklets are being discontinued; too expensive to make. I feel lucky to have bought the DVDs before they did that. The same content will supposedly be offered as PDF files on Synch-Point's Web site, which actually may be a plus for those of you who got the video content by, hem hem, electronic delivery; but I'd still rather have the actual booklets.Scintilla wrote:booklets that included all sorts of commentary, interviews, etc., as well as translations of the manga sequences in Episodes 1 and 6, printed out in their entirety.

The US release was pretty good, the dub was satisfactory but will never be albe to hold a candle to the original japanese version. By the way the dirrectors commentary were a terribly helpful feature ... now one of these days i'll get around to watching the commentary on the last disk.Angelx03 wrote:I thought the U.S release of FLCL was pretty good. Heck, they included the director's commentary for each episode, and the dubbing was pretty decent.

Oh, and the dub out takes were halarious.
yea i have a feeling you'd be disapointed by the dub. Seeing as how you actualy understand some of what they're saing.otohiko wrote:Raises hand.
I haven't seen the dub and don't intend to, but I think you can call me an FLCL fan nevertheless...
this is a special situation ... idiocy like hot sauce's demands a "speshal" kind of reply.angelx03 wrote:I thought you only said that in Demonseals?Otohiko wrote:

I'm far from fluent in Japanese, but even with subs, sometimes I see a semantic difference between the voice and the subtitle come up, and a little alarm goes off. Needless to say, since in dubs you need even more changes to make sure the dialogue makes some sense, plus you're actually hearing the voices... well, if you've already seen the original, it's just not the same.Propyro wrote:

I don't know if I would be disappointed - a dub is a dub, and should be seen as such. You can't really compare dubs with the original. The original always wins, at least for me. I wouldn't bother with dubs now that I have access to so much unaltered acting of good quality...
As for 'speshal responses' - I realized my posting patterns don't make sense sometime, so I decided to add a line to my sig to explain the logic behind some awkward moments...
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…
