I've been collecting a bunch of video promos for the new Sailor Moon tv series airing October 4th, and so far it looks incredibly promising. Anyone who enjoys general tokusatsu or live action Japanese television will probably like this.

Hey,

I've actually thought about getting the LA DB or Gundum movie just to see how bad they really were.

There's also a Japanese live action Jin-Roh movie done by the same director of the anime. It doesn't look right. The action and special effect look sub-par. The move seems to be a B movie. Anime (or most animation) movies to live action never works out right.

Also in development are a live action Battle Angel Alita movie, which they damn well better not screw up. I've heard that they're working on one for Lupin III and Kite too. And of course there have been rumors for years of a live action Akira movie in the works, but there's nothing to back that up.

However, the Battle Angel Alita movie has been confirmed (not currently in development, but James Cameron said he would be directing it, and possibly a series of them). Not too sure about Lupin III or Kite, but they sound do-able. Akira LA is not likely.

It would be interesting to see a Trigun LA movie if they didn't screw it up. . . but they probably would.

This is the unfortunate thing I'm beginning to learn. There's very few fan sub groups that do live action.

MAYBE TV-Nihon will pick it up. If not... then we're probably on our own :(

The Cameron "Battle Angel" thing is old news.
However, I always figured that they meant that "Dark Angel" series... they're just so similar....

Yeah, I know it's kinda old news, but since nobody had mentioned it so far, I figured I might as well bring it up. And I never really watched Dark Angel, but unless it takes place in a postapocalyptic world populated by cyborgs and outlaws, then I don't think it's very similar to Battle Angel Alita at all.

Dubs are better because you get the people taking and words aren't coming out of their mouths or people not talking and words sopposedly coming out of their mouths. It's better to have the "kung fu movie" dialogue.
