None of what they flash back to in 'Reflections' past the Shishio stuff happens in the TV series.Jim Hawkings21122 wrote:One of the most notable after end OVA being Samurai X- Reflections, which actually takes place at the very end of Kenshin ( or so i'm told)angelx03 wrote:The reverse is also true. Ex. tenchi muyo!(OVA)= Tenchi Universe(tv)). One example is Magic Knights Rayearth. The OVA version of it is called Rayearth, and it dealt with the same characters only with a completely different situation (and the animation was SOOOOO X-like without the decapitation of bodies
).
I made the mistake of watching it before i found out that it was the end of the kenshin tv series, talk about spoilers XD , I've only seen to the end of the Shisshio Story arc.

I know, but i was told by a rather big kenshin that the ova "reflections" had a stand alone plot that took place at the very end of the kenshin t.v. series.Savia wrote:None of what they flash back to in 'Reflections' past the Shishio stuff happens in the TV series.Jim Hawkings21122 wrote:One of the most notable after end OVA being Samurai X- Reflections, which actually takes place at the very end of Kenshin ( or so i'm told)angelx03 wrote:The reverse is also true. Reflections is, to a degree, an extremely brief summation of the plot of the manga after the Kyoto arc, albeit with a different ending. The TV series takes its own path after the Kyoto arc.

Wrong. Up until then, the anime had had to include filler that was not in the original to avoid catching up to the manga plotline and thus being unable to animate new material without doing something that would cause problems once Watsuki wrote more manga. Hence, after finishing the Kyoto arc, they began to churn out their own material that was never in the original, from the point where Kenshin visits a mysterious grave after the battle with Shishio. After that point, the manga launched into a flashback that was eventually animated as the Trust and Betrayal OVAs, explaining the motives of Enishi before introducing him as the new villain. This part was never animated fully, as Watsuki lost patience with the animator's new material and broke links with them. They later reconciled far enough to produce the aforementioned Trust and Betrayal, but Reflections in all made by the animators, based on the manga's version of events after the Kyoto Arc. The manga's 'Revenge Arc' will most likely never see animation, despite being regarded as the best arc by many fans.Jim Hawkings21122 wrote:Well from what i understand the manga ended after the Kyoto Arc right savia?

It's possible, now that the TV series has secured a larger following with the Cartoon Network slot.Jim Hawkings21122 wrote:hey savia, do you think that the Kenshin Manga will ever make it overseas?

Actually, Shonen Jump's been running ads for at least the past two months which I believe are leading up to the manga release in America at least in that magazine. So yeah, give it maybe a year or two and they'll release it in book form.hey savia, do you think that the Kenshin Manga will ever make it overseas?

Heh, I wouldn't know as we don't get Jump very easily over here but I had been hearing rumours to that effect. Cool to hear.Trident wrote:Actually, Shonen Jump's been running ads for at least the past two months which I believe are leading up to the manga release in America at least in that magazine.
