It depends on the anime really. For example: I like the Yu Yu Hakusho dub alot. :P Brings out Hiei-chans character quite well. However, I absolutely HATE the Fushigi Yuugi and Slayers dubs. They insult most of the characters in both shows. Nuriko and Hotohori's voices are ok, but still....... When it comes to FY, it's sub or nothing. 8)

That's the thing I hate most about bad dubs as well. The first time I saw Vampire Hunter D dubbed on VHS, it felt as though the voice actors were just sight reading from a script, there was just no feeling to it.

But good dubs, ahhh I loves me some good dubs. Subtitles take my attention away from the movie in order to read the things, I prefer the subbed translation, but can't stand having to glance back and forth between the picture and text.

I prefer the dubs usually.

Here's one you HAVE to watch dubbed- Hellsing. It sounds awful when English characters are speaking Japanese. The dub gives them good English accents that work so much better.

Other great dubs- Cowboy Bebop, RahXephon.

I don't mind dubs really....but if I could I'd watch everything subbed.

And I mean everything including non-anime. I watch Star Wars (for example) subbed all the time even though I really don't need to since it is in English. But for some reason I pay more attention and keep important facts if I read something instead of hearing something.

I usually prefer subs, but sometimes I just prefer the dub. I think Those Who Hunt Elves has fantastic dubbing. I prefer the dubbing to Trigun and Sorcerer Hunters. But some shows are just so badly done *coughUtenacough* that I curse dubbing. I mean, sure there are plenty of good dubs. Most of the stuff from ADV or Pioneer is pretty good. Spirited Away has AMAZING dubbing. But anyway.

Chico: That was the greatest shot I've ever seen.
Britt: The worst! I was aiming at the horse.

My first choice is always subs....... guess Im just old school but a lot of my anime is sub only and I dont have a dub option.

I'll take subs as a first choice, especially if whoever made the DVD got lazy about hard-subbing, but I usually don't mind dub jobs either. From what I've seen of it, Evangelion's got a pretty good dub version (though the ADR could be a tad better), and FLCL's is awesome. Especially Kamon, Haruko, and Amarao.

Subtitled all the way.

The only time I watch the dub is if:
1. I can't understand the voices, or they talk to fast (Excel Saga).
2. Voices are done really well or just plain r0x0r (Eva, Tenchi).
3. I am doing something while watching Anime, eg: cleaning room.
