Hmm... the central character finds a girl standing in the middle of nowhere, then lots of birds fly away, then girl (who is associated with wings) disappears... military dispatches humanoid-looking monstery thingies to deal with attackers... central character is recruited by government for initially mysterious reasons... and to top it all off, Misato/Trinity kicks the crap out of obviously inhuman Agents, managing to rip off both The Matrix AND End of Evangelion in one scene!

And I'm not even 15 minutes into the first episode.

Don't these people have ANY original ideas?

As an encore ripoff right before the first episode ends, Mishima does something that establishes her as being associated with the big humanoid entities - as if the name Reika didn't already establish which Evangelion character she's a clone of (no pun intended). Oh, and there's the drop of water, too.

In the second episode, she's late to class (just like someone else we know who is frequently absent...), and doesn't seem to remember certain events of the previous episode or fully understand her association with Rah (egads, why do I continue listing the similarities?).

Asahina keeps hitting that one guy or at least tries to... *cough* Asuka *cough*

When the Shinji ripoff and the Misato/Trinity ripoff are in the same car, she says "You're not cute," which is disturbingly similar to Misato's line "You're not as cute as I thought you'd be" when she and Shinji were in the same car... and she keeps talking about showing Kamina the truth, which again reminds me of Trinity.

Mishima walks on water, defying gravity... another Rei trick. And I just can't shake the feeling that her return to Rah is like Rei's merging with Lillith. Although Kamina does these too later, so I'm not sure they should count...

I think there's a little bit of The Truman Show in there too.

I've already seen Evangelion and The Matrix. I really wonder if there's any reason to keep watching Xephon, since it seems as if I've seen it all already

But I already have episode 4 and #3 is halfway downloaded, so I guess I might as well.
