Cowboy Bebop live or not??

the reason why i choosed Rip Torn was because of the beard and he could probably pull off the voice for Jet. plus i just cant figure any one else. as for the Akira movie i hope they make it better then the anime one. when i first saw the dub movie i thought it was good. but after i read some of the manga i thought the movie didnt do it justice. i mean take a look at Yamagata's death in the manga compared to the one in the movie. in the movie there was no death scene they just said that Tetsuo killed him. and plus you have these cheap ass vocalist yelling dah daha da da da da da every five minutes. its like the director just said go ahead and wing it. by the way does any body know the name of that song?? i thought about doing a vid to it just for kicks.

I was confused by Rip Torn. Good choice for the voice but he's a bit old to play Jet. Clancy Brown would be a good choice.

It would let me go in and edit that sentance. Jet Li definately has the martial arts ability but he doesnt seem like a Spike Spiegel type to me. Maybe with a perm and lifts in his shoes? Spike was fairly tall.

Understandable. THe Manga has more time to tell so much more story... and all the things that happen in the manga... just an incredible collection of events...

they would have to do a series to capture the manga...

but while the Manga is more involved and more complicated... I wouldn't be to harsh on the movie. The movie was an amazing piece of animation and it did a good job of telling the themes of the manga.

I don't know the name of the song, but the Akira soundtrack is pretty easy to pick up and the song is there.

The music for the movie follows a Japanese tradition of story-telling through music. Themes act as punctuation marks to reflect action. I don't have a very comprehensive knowledge of this... but the music served as a story-telling device more than as simple "background" music.

I agree with you Jet Li might have the fighting skills but he doesnt have one bit of Spike's look i dont even think he can do Spike's accent......im a huge CB fan and i know that the series reached it's end and i wouldnt like a live movie of CB the casting would be very hard to choose not many ppl look or sound like them.....well maybe no1 does

Jet has to be someone kinda stocky and muscular.

I think Hulk Hogan could do it after taking a few years of learning to act.

Clancy Brown could do it to and I think he can act. I would have him bulk up a bit first.

Who was the kid on Roswell? Brendan Fehr? He could do Spike if he was taught martial arts. I think he had the cavalier attitude right on Roswell.

Another note on this topic- what parts could they include in the movie's plot? I think that the 'plot episodes' (Ballad of Fallen Angels, Jupiter Jazz 1&2, The Real Folk Blues 1&2) would make the core of the movie, and then some parts of Faye's backstory and Spike's to flesh things out. As much as I love Ed, I just can't see a major role for her in this movie :\

Oh, and castings for Vicious? I think that this is a little easier than the rest of the cast, but still tough...

Of course there's a live action movie. It's already finished. It comes out in December.
