zacks in death in reminiscence of final fantasy VII

I very much doubt I'll find someone on this forum who hasn't played Final Fantasy VII but if you happen to be in this minority I suppose this post may contain spoilers so stop reading now

I've just been watching the region 2 DVD of final fantasy seven Advent Children and there is a feature on it called reminiscence of Final Fantasy VII. It's a sequence of scenes from the original Playstation one game that loosely explains the story so the movie makes little more sense. I am a massive fan of this game and I'm sure I'm not the only person here to say it played a small part in shaping my life but when I was watching this reminiscence thing back there was a couple of scenes I don't remember

Am I going senile, or maybe i'v got mad cow disease?

I'm talking about the scenes were Zack dies in the original game! Does anyone know if these scenes were omitted from the PAL version or is my memory deceiving me?

I've seen these scenes re-done in that short anime "Crisis Core" or "Before Crisis" or whatever it's called, but I just can't for the life of me remember it in the game

I watched the movie. Uh, I loved it. Couldn't stop watching it over and over again. However, I'm not gonna be much help because...um...I haven't played the game . I played VIII before, once, but I think I got lost somewhere and it threw me off the game of Final Fantasy. Now, I want to play it but have no Playstation and can't seem to find the games... .

Not only because this isn't one, but because they'd be better versed in what was kept and cut from various versions of FFVII.

For what it's worth: Zack dies in the original game no matter what - otherwise Cloud as we know him would not exist - but I don't remember whether it was played out onscreen or not.

i can't remmeber the whole cloud flashback scenes either - even thouggh its a major part of the story so dont worry. I remember that it happens though, i just cant put the picture in my head.

I would be very surprised if they cut it from the PAL version. Did you revisit Nibelheim later in the game and get the extra Cloud flashback scenes? If you play straight through without going back again, you won't see them.

I can't believe I missed this bit, I played and replayed this game for literally hundreds of hours and I never once went back to see that extra cut seen. I'm kind of surprised I didn't just come across it by wandering around a lot. I guess there's no use crying over spilt milk.

For the record I had a save that was just before you went into the North Cave on disk 4 so I just popped back to NevilNibelheim and the cut seen played.

I totally can't believe I missed that thanks man
