The more people who email DirecTV with this suggestion the better odds that they will add the Anime channel!

ADV's "The Anime Network" (TAN) is an On Demand service. Satellite TV services, such as Direct TV, Dish Network, and others, don't carry On Demand channels. If you really want the Anime Network On Demand, then you have to switch to digital cable. Next you'll have subscribe to Anime Network On Demand, which costs $6.95 a month. Calling or e-mailing Direct TV wont get you anywhere.

No, and No!

DirecTV carries a lot of on demand movies already. That said,

From the Anime Network FAQ
1. Is Anime Network only available through On Demand?
NO! Anime Network is running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week right now! Call your cable provider right now or click on the 'DEMAND IT!' link on the right side of this web page and fill out the form to leet your cable provider know that you want Anime Network right now!

In fact, you can go here and send a request from their page, but still email DirecTV as well as that carries more weight!

Sorry, didn't know. I only have the On Demand channel (with digital cable). And I've never heard of Direct TV carrying any kind of On Demand channels. (They sure as hell don't advertise it. + The FAQs at the website doesn't mention anything about the network being on any setellite service.)

I don't know if the anime channel is on any sat yet but if you click on the link on their site to send a request DirecTV was an option, at least for me.

I think an email to DirecTV would carry more wieght though.

I've had DirecTV with TIVO for the past few years and I can hardly stand to watch live TV anymore. I really hope that DirecTV will add this channel.
