Need input on Taruto.

Ok, I heard that this series has a plethora of cat girls as well as some magic involved. And since Madhouse is the one who animated it (and the fact I check some images of this series), I bet this is oozing with cuteness especially the magical neko girls.

The first DVD is supposed to be released by Bandai in 2/22/05. I'm just wondering if this series has great cutieness factor like Cardcaptor Sakura or Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar or has absolute cutieness to a point to absolute stupidity like Mao-chan.

Yeah, it's chock full of cuteness. It's more in the vein of Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar, if anything. The early episodes are mostly Taruto's various attempts to learn magic, pretty standard stuff. I've only seen the first five or six episodes (so I'm not sure how much character development and plot buildup happens later on), but so far it seems pretty average, albeit unimpressive. If you're in the mood for something on the lighter side, Taruto might be worth checking out.

Actually, Magical Nyan Nyan Taruto premiered in 2001, and thus predates Naruto by a year. And really, with the full title, it isn't especially easy to confuse the two.
