What are all the Kenshin Moives?
So, far I have heard of the samuri X OVA's and the motion picture. How while looking on the net for these I ran over others from multiple sites. Which were these two Samuri X Seisou Hen & Samuri X Memory. So, I am only curious to know if these are flase names, since they weren't on this site or anime news network where I usually go to get info, and I also want to know if there are others. Thanks!

Over here the names of the OVA's are under Samurai X: Trust, Betrayal, and Reflections. I believe that the movie was just entitled Samurai X: The movie (but I don't remember for sure).
In our database, they should be listed as:
Rurouni Kenshin / Samurai X - 1st OVA (Tsuiokuhen, Trust & Betrayal)
Rurouni Kenshin / Samurai X - 2nd OVA (Seisouhen, Reflection)
Rurouni Kenshin / Samurai X - The Movie (Ishinshishi)
In our database, they should be listed as:
Rurouni Kenshin / Samurai X - 1st OVA (Tsuiokuhen, Trust & Betrayal)
Rurouni Kenshin / Samurai X - 2nd OVA (Seisouhen, Reflection)
Rurouni Kenshin / Samurai X - The Movie (Ishinshishi)

So does that mean that Tsuiokuhen is trust and betral only in Japanese, and is that true with the others?Tsunami Jones wrote:Over here the names of the OVA's are under Samurai X: Trust, Betrayal, and Reflections. I would assume that Tsuiokuhen would be the Japanese title for the first OVA. The same would go for the others. Over here though, Trust and Betrayel were originally released seperately, and then re-released together as Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal Director's Cut.Evangelion Unit 01 wrote:

Allow me to drive the stake even further. For years the RK community has dealt with explaining this...
Fuji TV, with SME Visual Works picked up the rights to the manga. The original titles are all Rurouni Kenshin. In chronological order of production, they are:
TV series
Ishin Shishi no Requiem (Theatrical Movie)
Tsuiokuhen (4 EP OVA)
Seisouhen (2 EP OVA)
In the US, the license agreement was for Anime Works (Mediablasters) to get the much sought after TV series. ADV was granted the rights to distribute the OVAs and the Movie.
ADV reworked the title to Samurai X (Much to the chagrin of myself and many others). Anime Works stayed true to the original title.
Tsuiokuhen became "Trust" & "Betrayal"
Seisouhen became "Reflection"
and Ishin Shishi no Requiem became "The Motion Picture" (sigh)
I heard some hearsay though, that there was a bidding war swap, and originally ADV was going to do the TV series and AW would have done the rest (Validity to this? Someone else might know).

Okay, that's what it seemed like to me at first but what is this Kenshin Memory thing?Sentient Satire wrote:Allow me to drive the stake even further. For years the RK community has dealt with explaining this...

[MOD: That is what we call a bootleg anime DVD from a bootleg anime site. Judging from the cover, I'd say it was the first OVA renamed.]

Okay, I can see how that is now thanks, but I have just one more question. What is the difference between trust and betrayal and trust and betrayal director's cut?MOD wrote:

The Trust and Betrayal DVDs and the Directors Cut contain mostly the same scenes. The Directors Cut edits the four episodes together into a single continuous movie, and contains a few small new scenes.Evangelion Unit 01 wrote:Okay, I can see how that is now thanks, but I have just one more question. Unfortunately, the Directors Cut is also cropped vertically to make the movie widescreen, so we lose a good portion of most of the scenes.
