I'm an Animerica reader. I gave Newtype a shot, but it just didn't really have too much too offer. Some of the articles were okay, but there was no creativity in the writing, the guys at Animerica have a massive sense of humor. One thing that turned me off about Newtype especially was the reviews section. The impression I got was that the review staff gives great reviews to everything, even the titles that suck. I'm going with quality over quantity on this one.
Probably too busy to be here right now.

There's a reason for that, NewtypeUSA is done by ADV and they mainly review ADV anime, of course they're going to give glowing reviews. Animerica seems to be a bit better about that even though they're done by Viz
