Just be aware that the T.V. series is almost totally different from the movie.

hmmm. scratch Samurai Deeper kyo off of your list. (as I have ranted many times before) It was butchered. The manga is good (so far from what I've read) but I've found the anime a bit cheezy (not just becuase the story line is a bit different from the manga).

Saiyuki is okay. The animation isn't the best though. There are a lot of still shots during battles. But overall I enjoyed it.

I can't really comment on the rest of your list, since there are quite a few mentioned that I have not seen (but would really like to see).

Big O - I only saw a few episodes, but they were good.
Crest of the Stars - I love it so much. The entire thing is good.
Escaflowne Series - I hated it because of the female main character...
Matantei Loki Ragnarok - Uh, this is a show for girls about a cute guy. I wouldn't reccomend it...
X TV the series - This is also for girls...
That's partially true. :|

What about Wolf's Rain. I've heard many things about good and bad alike. Someone even said that everyone's gonna die in the end (not that this comes as a surprise for an anime). But then again, execpt for Cowboy Bebop (about which i've heard only good opinions) every other anime is provocking different reactions...
