A Cheeky Angel
Does anybody know about this manga?
I recently saw the advertisement for it in the 7th volume of Excel Saga.
The plot line seems to be that this guy wants to be the 'manliest man' in the universte, so he goes to a magic shop and ends up turning into the 'womanliest woman' instead.
The concept makes me think I'd enjoy it, but I was searching around Viz's website (and how I dislike their layout) but couldn't really find any information about it.

Oh, didn't know they were bringing the Tenshi Na Konamaiki manga over. I've watched some of the anime, and from what I've seen, it's been good. And yeah, what you read pretty much sums up the premise of it. While the concept isn't groundbreaking, it still manages to be fresh in its genre. It's funny, has good character development, and a nice art style. I'd recommend it, and I'll be grabbing a copy myself once I see it out in stores.

Well, I'm thinking it's one of those cases where they only licensed the manga for the time being. As for whether it's worth it or not, I couldn't say for sure. I've only seen a few episodes here and there, but I've liked what I've seen of it. It's got some action, romance, and comedy; it ends up being pretty well-rounded. I'd say it's worth a look, at least.

Yes, I know.
I want to buy the manga (either off Sasuga books, or used at Amazon Japan) but it's at least 20 vols.
Also, I've watched up to episode 38 (of 50). It's a good funny show.
A plus to any fans out there, the main characters voice is done by Megumi Hayashibara. (*cough* Female Ranma *cough* anyone else find that funny? Wait, funny x2, the main character is also named Megumi HMMMMMMMMM)
Actually he doesn't go to a magic shop. He's walking one day with his childhood friend (a she, Miki) by a river (he's 9 at the time)when he notices some young boys pestering a man dressed up like a mage.
He goes down there and beats the crap out of the boys and the magic guy gives him a book as a reward. After the magician leaves he accidently drops some blood on the book (fight remember?) and it suddenly opens up to a page with a jester looking character (Pierrot) and with flashing lights (and much flair) the jester raises out of the page. however, he's still only 6 inches tall. he then says he'll grant any wish that's within his power.
Megu wishes to be the manliest man. The jester smiles and says "alright". He chants some incantation and disappears. Megu asks Miki if he looks like the manliest man, however Miki is unsure as Megu's voice suddenly went up a few octaves. Miki then presses on Megu's chest and tells him (her) that it didn't work. Megu looks down wondering what happened and sees that he (she) nows has breasts.
Megu starts to protest. the jester re-appears (through the symbol in the center of the book) and asks if he's happen. Megus is NOT happy. She picks up the book and throws it in the river.
The story (at the begining, it changes later on) is that Megu is now 16 and is looking for the book to turn her back into a man.
Funny thing is, her fighting skill and agility surpass just about everyone, and her beauty is unmatched (also brings trouble). Some man.
Anyhows, I'm trying to recall the first ep (no, didn't go rewatch it for the post, too late now (3:18a.m.)) which I originally watched months ago.
So I gave my best shot, might have left some details out though, but that helps you get the basic jist of it.
Still quite a good series. Now that they are bringing the manga over I hope they license the series (fansubs left off at ep 38, plus U.S. price will beat the Jap R2 3 eps a dvd for $53 price X 13)
I'm still buying the import mangas though. I'll learn Japanese eventually.
Ok, gotta force myself to bed now or else I'll be here all night.
The Big O will KILL you!

Meh, as long as they offer a Japanese track and keep it uncut I'm not too fussyTheKorovaMilkbar wrote:WHOA, careful what you wish for Moonlight Soldier, licensing isn't always a good thing. It depends on which company gets a hold of it. Cross your fingers.
