What anime characters would best fit with these Wheel of Time characters?
1. Rand: Swordsman, channeling (Elemental *magic*), the Dragon
2. Mat : Staffsman, Thief-like cahracter, lucky as hell, the Fox.
3. Perrin : Axeman, blacksmith, wolf powers, the Bull (Wolf relation)
4. Add more characters as you like, I don't remember them all. It's been like a year since I last read the series.

There's nothing yet on wether Rand dies or not. It's still a mystery as to if he dies. I'm at the latest book and nothing really can kill Rand although everything comes so close you can consider him a walking zombie.
As for him being weak, the reason is due to his long use of the One Power. He's starting to lose control of himself to Lews Therin who is his soul.
Also, the weakness comes from waht happened in the book before that. You can easily understand the weakness if you read teh part about the gateway exploding. That is the secret weapon (from the Seachen viewpoint) and it screwed up teh One power so much that it's become very hard to control teh power.
Also, he is weakening because he doesn't have his three gf's around him...and he is TIRED. That lucky bastard, three gf's and weak as a lamb!

You won't regreat reading the whole series. It's not until book 3 that things get really interesting but if you didn't read teh books before, you'll be lost because you wouldn't know the characters and the waht they went through.
I truly wish somebody made an anime out of this series. It would be so great, channeling and swords action just like kenshin and other weapons involved. YOu'll get to see huge armies battle and you'll get to travel across a world as great as Tolkien made the Middle Earth, even better. So much great things...if only they made an anime out of the series.

yeah it definitly rocks from what i read, if you like it may i suggest the dragonlance series, paricularly the war of the lance trilogy it is similar and i've read it actually several times so you know it's good also try the legend of huma, thats good one. but just about anything in the dragonlance series is good and most don't require you read a big long series
