Note: This post is for those that read my earlier post: “Where can I download Anime?”
>This post doesn't talk about where specifically to download anime, but apologizing of what I did.
>If you feel offended about the post “Where can I download Anime?” this post is for you. I apologized for those that are offended for the post “Where can I download Anime?” All I wanted to know is where I can get more anime clips so I can make a video, because I’m a newbie at making AMVs, although I joined Anime Music Video for about a year. Like most of you guys already notice or assumed, I didn’t read the rules. Because of this, I apologized for my post and disregard that post. Please don’t post anything on this post.
Thank you,
ForYouToSee
>This part below is for those that still hate me, or have a grudge against me JUST for posting my earlier post.
I have nothing against AMV, or people that starting to make AMVs.
>I can see why you guys might hate me, but I have apologized about my post. If you guys still hate, or have a grudge against me JUST for that, I don’t know if you guys can ever forgive others. I may know why people won’t forgive others, like when someone died and the one who killed them apologized and you won’t forgive them, but in this case, there was little, if any, damage done. There was only 1 website, where to download anime posted, and I think that did little damage.
>Also, if you hate me JUST for posting “Where can I download Anime?” then you will hate those that just beginning to make AMVs. It is they that will ask others, like you, where they can get anime, and the only way to get anime (onto your computer) is by downloading, or ripping it off a DVD, to your computer. As I can see it, there are only 4 ways to get anime onto your computer. (Only ways, not specifically where)They are:
1.) Downloading it from the Internet
2.) Asking your friends for anime clips
3.) Ripping it from a DVD
4.) Recording it from television
>I cannot see any other way to get anime onto your computer besides any of the 4 ways I listed above. You may seem that download anime is illegal, but you, and I, do it. To see an anime video from AMV, or other places, you must first download the anime, and that is illegal, and most of us download anime. Ripping it off from a DVD and is also illegal. Asking your friend for anime may not be illegal, but your friend had to get it somewhere. They usually get it from the Internet. Finally, recording it from television is illegal in its own ways. Recording is only for your OWN personal use and using a video you recorded for YOUR anime videos are illegal. Besides, most of us don’t record from television with a camcorder. Although we do stuff illegal (or what I said it was illegal), there are rarely anybody enforces this rule on us and it is not that of a big deal compared to crimes committed every day. Even I try to do this.
>How about when you made your first AMV? I bet that you probability had to download an AMV just to know what to do, or how it looked. And if you didn’t, how did you get the anime clips to use on your first AMV? You probability downloaded it from the Internet, or use of the 4 methods I listed above.
>If you don’t hate me because I post where I can download Anime, then I don’t know where you got your hate. But if you just hate me because I posted that, I was trying to be polite and ask where I can get more clips to build my first AMV and you just try to shut me down. For this, you have shown me that you won’t help those that are in need.
>Like me, and probability others in AMV and around the world, we cannot afford to buy anime DVDs all the time, because of budget limit, not having a store that sell anime DVDs, anime DVDs’ prices are high, or other reasons. There are even people, including myself, that download from the Internet just to see anime. If you want us to buy anime DVDs, rather than downloading it from the Internet, then you are out of your mind and probability thinking that everybody is as rich as you are.
To sum it up, I apologized for the post “Where can I download Anime?” But if you still hate me, then there is something wrong with you, as (maybe) you and a lot of us download anime. If you believe that downloading anime is wrong, I should not see any videos published by you on the Internet, because may be you be uploading it onto AMV, AMV will be the one that will be downloading. Also, you will be hating those that are trying to make AMVs for the first time and need more anime clips.
I apologized for anything offended by the reader, but I have to speak my mind for those that hate me, either posted on AMV or not just because I posted where I can download Anime.
I have nothing against AMV, or people that starting to make AMVs.
The only thing I hate is people hating me after I apologized for something I did wrong.
This is not a threat of any kind. Just my way to forgive me, either the easy way or the hard way
Thank You,
ForYouToSee

Dude, there is no need to create an entirely new thread in order to atone for a transgression of the forum rules. It's enough not to repeat the offense. And you're not even apologising as such, you're just trying to justify downloading anime to make AMVs and laying down blanket accusations that everyone's doing it.ForYouToSee wrote:1.) It you're that hard up for footage, just buy a couple of Newtype USAs and use whatever footage is on the DVDs that come with it. OK, you may have to resuse a scene or do a lot of lip-synching, but nobody will care if the AMV winds up half-decent.

First off, im sorry for disregarding part of your post and replieing to the thread.
As someone already said, the best way to resolve a mistake is to not repeat it. However, I myself think that it is great that you cared enough to make a thread and apologize for your actions againt the forum rules.
Secondly, as you stated, there are various ways of getting anime footage onto your computer. However the forum rules prohibate only some of them. When you care enough about an anime to buy the series and use your time and effort to make an AMV, its highly doubtful that a company will care that you give it to others. It's not like you are downloading the series (Which is infact what you do when you download it from the internet), infact your almost making a trailer for that anime. Many people, including myself, are so impressed by a video that they are inclinced to buy the Anime.
People create AMVs because they enjoy doing it and they try to make it as 'legal' as possible. In the end, just try and follow the forum rules from this point on.

Re: Apologize about earlier post: "Where can I download
I can think of one or two others (for instance, create original animation of your own on your computer), but that's irrelevant, because of your four ways, some are considered okay anyway.ForYouToSee wrote:I cannot see any other way to get anime onto your computer besides any of the 4 ways I listed above.
Actually, I don't download anime, although to be fair, that's mostly just because I'm on a dialup modem connection and it would be painful.ForYouToSee wrote:You may seem that download anime is illegal, but you, and I, do it.
Ripping DVDs is legal in Canada; probably not legal in the USA, but that's because of the access-control circumvention, NOT because of violating regular copyright. It doesn't violate regular copyright. Subsequently distributing the material from the DVDs is probably illegal, but that's a different question and doesn't depend on how you got it onto the computer.ForYouToSee wrote:To see an anime video from AMV, or other places, you must first download the anime, and that is illegal, and most of us download anime. If your friend gives you a copy, that is probably illegal in any Berne Convention country (including Canada and the USA). It has nothing to do with how your friend got the material onto the computer.ForYouToSee wrote:Asking your friend for anime may not be illegal, but your friend had to get it somewhere.
Not my friends.ForYouToSee wrote:They usually get it from the Internet.
Recording from television is usually legal in both Canada and the USA. The US Supreme Court made a famous ruling on the subject (the "Betamax" decision) in the mid 1980s, and there's been subsequent legislation entrenching it. Distributing copies after you've recorded them is generally illegal, but that has nothing to do with whether you recorded them from television.ForYouToSee wrote:Finally, recording it from television is illegal in its own ways.
That's basically true if you are distributing the videos. Fair use/fair dealing can also include some other things besides personal use, but none of them would apply to AMVs.ForYouToSee wrote:Recording is only for your OWN personal use and using a video you recorded for YOUR anime videos are illegal.
Using a camcorder has nothing to do with whether it's legal or not.ForYouToSee wrote:Besides, most of us don’t record from television with a camcorder.
