Oh crap. I saw that at a con this weekend and I didn't know what it was.
It was actually not all that expensive as far as models go, from what I recall...

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

So THAT'S where that's from.
I was there with Propyro looking at stuff, and we were like 'What's that, it looks cool'. Particularly me with my affinity for fighter aircraft.
What's the anime like then?

well my bro got it (seeing as how, like i told you before, he's a pilot so he HAD to, lol.) and its pretty good....the SHOW is actually very good in my oppinion..
the art though...the planes and especially the dog fights look amazing...but i dislike the way the people were drawn....but yeah i'd recommend looking into it....so far its fairly good..but i never knew about it till after it got licensed so im stuck with only the released in the US stuff which is the first DVD (1 1hour long episode and 1 30 minute) so yeah....but yes, liking planes (and knowing about them) makes it that much better! specially sense, technically the Sylphs would work out aerodynamically

Heh. Never heard of it until today, odd. Strange how some titles just slip by me....
I don't know about its' other forms, but this form looks like a souped-up Su-27-series derivative (the newest one, the Su-3,7 is probably the closest)
Su-37
vs
Yukikaze
Hmm

well the plane could exist on its own according to a few engineers and pilots anyway, lol....but yes, it seems fairly close to it, look wise atleast. Other then looks...the Sylph in general is pretty insane...they always are getting blown up and crap but thats cuz they are fighting ghetto alien things
but yeah its a good show other then the people's looks
