Here I'm going to try something *Spoilers for Captain Tylor*

Let me make a point using the Captain Tylor OAV series (not the TV series).

The OAV series starts off with Asaleen, Queen of the Ralgons (I'l applogize about the spelling, but I don't know how to spell it) wanting peace. See is told "if you wish for it sooner or later it will come true".

Ok, event happen in the middle, blah, blah, blah. Near the end of the show she is betrayed by one of her political advisors who doesn't want the war to end. He calls on a unknown force (we are only aware that it seems another alien race has made a alliance with the advisor). The force attacks both human and ralgon forces. In the end Asaleen is herself attacked but escapes in a shuttle. The final words of the show is Asaleen saying something like "I understand now, wishing for it isn't enough".

Well, the writers made their point of the show right "if someone wants something they must act and not just wish for it", so it can end there of course. Well no, what is the force that is attacking both sides. What is it motivations? Will the ralgons or the humans be able to defeat it. These questions are important. They may be secondary to the main point but by using this as a plot point ending the series there leaves dangaling questions. A good story doesn't just end when a writer makes his point. The writer must also choice to end plot points in the story.

Now on to Trigun, the writer makes his point but leaves a huge dangling question. I feel (and I know its not just me) that it does deserve a answer. Saying "I'll try to teach him" isn't an ending.
