I was there as well, I can vouch for him. However, inadvertantly promoting a band like Jim's Big Ego is okay, since Jim is awesome. Plus, he gave you those cds without you having to ask him, so don't be so hard on yourself. 8)

And if you paid attention to the topic at hand, I was given the cds for my shameless promotion of the band. You have to admit, it really does look pretty bad.

i love the movie aswell. i dont think its right that they advertise in forums and chats becouse if someone were to do that here it would piss me off. but yea the movie was awsome

What kind of boards and chat rooms could you get away with plugging something like Bebop? Anime boards and chat rooms, where everybody knows 90% of what's already known. Seems kinda like a waste of time and money, but whatever. The 60 minutes piece was covering more than just Spike and Jet on the big screen, though. I think that kind of promotion is legit, but completely ass-tastic, not much higher on the chain than spamming people with email, except sneakier.

How did we fall for it? I'm not understanding that, since I liked Cowboy Bebop in the first place. Why would I care if someone is saying it's good? I intended to see it regardless. How can you call yourself a fan of something and then say you fell for the advertising methods?

I'm a fan of the Lord of the Rings, but the advertisement for the Return of the King isn't wasn't going to get me to see it.

But alot of people complain about the advertisement we have in this country....go to JAPAN (from my experience Tokyo) They know advertisement. USA has it easy.
