ADV gets Angelic Layer

As you may or may not know, ADV got rights to Clamp's Angelic Layer.

Jessica Boone as Misaki

Andy McAvin as Icchan

Kelly Manison as Shoko

Mark Laskowski as Ogata

Just some info for you guys to know.

Well, let's see if I can descibe it for you...

Done by studio CLAMP, has lots of familiarity with CCS and Rayearth in terms of character designs (as do all of CLAMP's works), revovles around a tournament style fighting game involving dolls which are mentally controlled by players, focuses on Misaki and her crippled mother who is so insecure about her debility, that she feels she can only confront her daughter in the guise of some popular idol player of this game - and even then she can't (some mom).

There are lots of various 'players' and 'angels' so it has a pokemon/video game aspect to it, but the story is rather enjoyable even if predictable. Dub should be interesting though.

i'm actually watching ep 23 right now and it's pretty god damn good so far, altough some of it is kids stuff, which makes sense, because they(CLAMP) geared the anime a little bit towards the less side of 15-16and reaching down to about 8-10

I read all the manga (only five) and was prety impressed. If you follow the manga, it ties to Chobits... kind of. It's wierd. Read the Angelic Layer manga, then read the Chobits manga book 7. .....mmmm, yeah.

And, for the record... I think I'd be the best Icchan voice.
