Neon Genesis Evangelion - What movie comes first?

Hello, I just signed up and I have been watching anime off of Netflix for about 2 years. Ive been renting the Evangelion series and im almost done. Now theres 'Death and Rebirth' and 'End of Evangelion', what one comes first?

Death and Rebirth is basically a recap of the series + the beginning of EoE...

...therefore, EoE comes last.

Deathand rebirth is just a synopsis of the series. End of Eva is the actual end movie. if you already saw the series then D&R is somewhat redundant, but it has some commentary that may reveal some missed aspect of the series, yet is not neccesary if you've seen the series.

when you watch EoE remember, it's an alternate ending. When you watch it don't think this is happning after episode 26. I did that when i first watched it and it confused the fuck out of me. The tv series and the movie are two totaly seperate endings, don't forget that. Need any more help or clarifacation, go a head and ask, theres no such thing as a stupid eva question ...

Death and Rebirth, although it's not really what one would call a movie, it's just a recap of the series up to ep 23 and a few reanimated scenes for filler and to get you primed for End of Evangelion.

The last 15-20 min is just a kind of intro for End of Evangelion

From what i understand, the series finishes the moral or actual concept of Evangelion, while the movie will finish the actual story.

Naw, EoE still takes the opportunity to provide some quality headfuck, especially around the last half-hour.

i agree with otohiko. Essentialy the end result is exactaly the same in the movie and the series, but Anno's reasons for making EoE were that the fans rejected his vision and threatened his life ... so he decided to make the movie as his way of saying "FUCK YOU TOO!" and he did so very well ... because god dose that movie ever fuck with your head.
