Haven't played the games, but since the third .hack series (.hack//Legend of the Twilight Braclet) doesn't tell you who the voice is I'm pretty sure that thats solved in the game (Although I'd rather watch an anime on it then play the game.. sigh).

I am watching .Hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet now and I like it the best of the three so far. More lighthearted and some very funny scenes. And Okha is a hottie.

The reason I think Liminality answers questions is that they state that there are several other players who have also gone into comas while playing. It has been stated that Liminality takes place in the real world during the same time as the events of .Hack//Sign.
In the last episode of Liminality they state that what happens should reawaken all the players in a coma. This seems to take place after Sora meets Morganna.
But as was pointed out Sora is supposed to make an appearance in a latter .Hack game so who knows?
