I knew it was going to be good when I heard the opening song and saw that it was made by Gainax.

Loved it and it is now on my must buy list. Yes it has alot of fanservice but I like that stuff and I thought it was very funny.

I saw that series about a month ago, I thought it was ok, however I think Gainax should stick to making animes like Evangelion, and FLCL

And during most of the time that they're (geographically) apart (I won't spoil why), it reverts to an instrumental.

I liekd Kare kano when i started watching it ... but me being the idiot i am i was watchign Love hina nad i think hellsing at the same time. I think i ended up losing interest in the series and forced my self to watch teh last 10 episodes. That i why there is rule # in my personal anime watching rules ...

You probably lost interest because the last 10 episodes sucked. Mainly because of arguments between Anno and the creator, Anno quitting as director, Gainax running out of money, and tax fraud problems.
