I think it's pretty damn cool and original. A "fantasy" style Martial Arts anime that doesn't involve Super Saiyan and very ugly character designs...

Yeah, Elle's run with Megumi Hayashibara kicks ass and being a martial artist junkie, I find this series to have a fantastic history and background behind it...

Heck, some websites have like dissertations on the martial arts and their history/development behind them...!

[I personally find the Shadow Skill itself to be very realistic in terms of WHY a martial art had to be created. BAdass stuff it is]

The music for the series gets me too! ^_^
"Strength lies in action. Let the weak react to me..." - Kamahl, Pit Fighter from Magic: the Gathering
"That is a mistake many of my enemies make. They think before they act. I act before I think!" - Vortigern from Merlin ('98)
"I AM REBORN!" - Dark Schneider Bastard!! OAV

Yeah, I got the soundtrack. The series follows more closely the manga, in much the same way the Silent Mobius series (speaking of which) began with telling the story more closely to the manga.

I believe, like Beserk, the manga actually continues further cause I remember seeing a panel art of Elle kissing... (*whoa possible spoiler*)

Anyway, you can do a search on Anipike for fan sites - I'm sure something there can help with background info if anyone is interested.

Since this was brought up, I just gotta say, Shadow Skill TV is one of those shows I really would have wanted to make a video out of. Hell, since it is out on DVD (in Japan) I've been seriously contemplating getting the region 2's some time in the future and doing that-

Imagine - seeing an AMV at a con NOBODY has ever used (and most have never seen). It would be one hell of a promotion which might get some studio interested to pick it up for distobution.

hmm, i didn't find it open ended at all, i thought it was nice how they ended with letting u know all about the origins of that martial arts style
i'm probably fine wit it cause i'm watched so many old martial arts live-action films that are based solely on telling the origins of a martial arts style that i don't have a problem wit it

i thought the middle of the whole thing was the weird part, they just kept throwing in new characters that already got along with the main ones
the beginning was good

Don't judge an AMV by it's anime.. u nooB ;D
