Background music in anime

After reading a couple of threads about subbed and dubbed anime, distribution of anime, and so on there's one thing that still annoys me.

When an anime series is brought over to the U.S. into network T.V. like KidsWB, WHY DO THE DISTRIBUTORS HAVE TO CHANGE THE BACKGROUND MUSIC? Does it make the anime series "boring" for kids? Luckily the anime in Cartoon Network are practically safe when it comes to the original background music.

It's funny how some of the anime in Cartoon Network became popular when the original background is RETAINED.

Hmm, I wonder this is the right forum section for the stuff I'm talking about?

OK, let me simplify the question.

WHY DO THE DISTRIBUTORS HAVE TO CHANGE THE BACKGROUND MUSIC?

Um, not exactly.

I mean anime shows like Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, Megaman NT Warrior, and others that have the original background music changed. Why do companies like 4Kids and Nelvana do that?

or the soundtrack like i did....hehehe the pokemon cd's are cool!
but i have Sound Duel(most of battle city background music with the opening "Wild Drive" and the ending song..which name i cant recall) but i want the very very last opening song...and the vids cool too! *drool* preist seto morphs into kaiba!

Oh yeah... I fuckin' hate the americanized DBZ soundtrack... the original music was soo cool, but those rock tracks together with the worst voice acting ever known...

i hear yah i love the original music myself. why the hell did Dragon Ball get the original score and not DBZ or GT?? though i dont really like the GT original score except the opening and closing themes. some of the music in GT is too cheerie for me.

i agree I like the original GT soundtrack, and since i have no want to watch the FUNI version of it i'll just imagine that the sountrack is cheerie(just cuz thats how FUNI does things)
