WHOA!! I just finished Book 2 of tbe Manga!!
That was intense!! Very interesting...reminds me of the time when I lost a week sleep after watching the movie ALIEN (when I was their age). I understand and sympathize with Yuri much more, and the transformations of the other two girls is getting bizzare, but in an intriguing way. LYNAX...DRILL CLAN...??? <COOL>
I figured Kasumi would be screwed up (even more) after being inside Yellow Knife; Kumi's reconstruction produced an unusual side effect I didn't see coming. Although I find it funny how casual she is handling it.
Among all this chaos and strangeness, Yuri's "cry baby" attitude does not seem unreasonable. At her age, I'd be freaking out too.
------
Bottom line_____ Read the Manga ____ The story gets better and makes the Anime that much more meaningful.

I thought that Alien 9 was, judging from the first volume, not worth reading the second. Uninteresting plot, silly backstory, annoying main character, etc etc. The only good part was when one of the characters had a copy of a book entitled 'Cthulu Mythology' on her bookshelf
