manga vs anime series

Unfortunately not. I think the US fanboys would be angry at this injustice .

On a serious note, I should thank Akira Toriyama since DBZ (as well as original Macross) are the only reasons I got into anime when I was 5 y/o kid and stuff. Given it was a lot better in manga (as stated) and Macross was not "Robotech."

Personally, I like the manga versions of Video Girl Ai and Pet Shop of Horrors more than their anime counterparts. However, I prefer the anime versions of Ranma 1/2 and Kare Kano over the manga.

Oooooo, this is something that has always bothered me. I LOVE the Violinist of Hameln manga and movie but I LOATHE the anime series. They turned my Hamel into a whiney silent type! ARG! They screwed with all the characters and made them annoying! I like Hamel much better when he's fighting with Raiel and Trom and dressing Flute up as beer cans and monkeys and the bottoms of ostriches. I like him better when he abuses his Marrionette attack and makes people dance for no reason except to amuse himself.

Oh, and you're right about the Akira manga. It's sooooo good. Makes the movie look kinda crappy. But I still like the movie.

I miss the silliness...like the whole "Chin Chin Kamen" gag or when Raiel tries to jump off a 50 ft tower with the 500 kg gold piano still attached to his back. All the sillines is in the movie release though, even if it was only 20 mins long...

better manga than the movie:

I's - coz they changed the story, and made Iori-chan's hair brown, uh.
Fly (Dragonquest) - coz the colors were bad. the characters looked better in b&w
