Narue no Sekai has been liscensed already?

Post by Anlushac11 » Fri Jul 04, 2003 4:04 am

Accdording to a animedvd website Narue no Sekai has jsut been picked up for liscensing.

The show just came out in Japan around April 4th, 2003. Is it normal for a series to be liscensed so quickly?

I can only hope this will be cause for more episodes.

Nowadays shows are already licensed before they even reach Japanese TV. It's usually a question of finalisation of contracts and marketing issues that delay the announcement of a title. This weekend is Anime Expo which is a big industry con so many announcements are made there.

There's been some industry panels recently that have told us that every new show has been offered to a western distributor and often western money aids the shows creation. Of course, this doesn't mean we are necessarily going to get every new show but every one has been offered which is the first part of the process. Many old shows were never licensed because the licensed was never offered and the japanese studios were not willing to offer it (e.g. Kodomo no Omocha)

So, in short, yes.
