Plot
Angel or goddess falls from the sky and lives with mortal:
Anime:
Angel should be a sweet naive innocent creature with magical powers
Always have geeky or ditzy teenager as protagonist
Always have a pleasure to serve hero anything like tea or sexual favors.
Always have angel's relatives to come and stay with angel & prot and interfere with their love life.
Always have embarassing moments like stumbling onto each other in their underwear
Always play some piano or pop music in the background
Always have this unusual yet symbolic attachment to some stuff like a straw or an empty Pochy box
Hollywood:
Angel is always this smartass, cigar-chomping, brooklyn-accented motor-mouth. Unless s/he's Brad Pitt, Martin Short or Kim Catrall.
Always have angsty teenager or clumsy 20-something yuppie as protagonist.
Always dispense some wisdom with his/er brooklyn-accents while chomping his/er cigar.
Always have villanous equivalent who looks like an some stuffy Englishman. Or Kathleen Turner.
Angel likes to butt in on prot's personal life like crapping in prot's bathroom or finishing all his cereals.
Always have some obscure music out of the 40's to the 70's played in the background.
Plot When aliens invaded:
Anime:
Always have angsty or ditzy teenager to save the world.
Always accompanied by a bunch of people, most likely a silent girl, a temperemental wench, & a stoic handsome kid
Hero is always recruited by some military organisation
Always ponder on the philosophical stuff like who am I & are we alone?
String, piano or motivational music always play in the background.
Aliens, btw, who cares what they look like or feel about us? It's always about the main characters & their lousy personal lives.
Hollywood:
Always have world-weary war veteran to save the world.
Always accompanied by a bunch of people, like a tough girl, a wiseass, & a tall silent guy.
Recruitment is optional. But always, hero fights on his/er own accord. But always have fun p'o the military.
Screw the philosophical stuff. They just want to kick alien ass & spew bad one-liners.
Rock music, orchestra, or disco music always play in the background.
Aliens are these references to some current political events that happened while the movies were made.
Hero, btw, always have bad memories of stuff like Vietnam or Gulf War, or partner got killed in a raid or wife killed by aliens.
Anything else? Like what same plot they use, and how anime & Hollywood parallel each other?
