1. Cowboy Bebop- Great art, great music, great pacing, great characters, great everything.
2. Excel Saga- Not for everyone but possibly the funniest tv show I've ever seen, anime or otherwise
3. Noir- Again not for everyone. It's slow at times and not terribly deep (at least what I've seen so far) but has great style and another good soundtrack. If you like bright and cheery anime, stay very far away.
4. Nadesico- Generally a parody of the genre but has some moments of instensity. Intelligent comedy
5. Dragon Half- What can I say? I like humor
6. FLCL- It might not have had the same quality strung out over an entire series, but I really, really wish there had been more of this. May be too weird for some people but I eat this stuff up. Another great soundtrack.
7. Read or Die- I don't know. There's just something about bringing back great (yet obscure) inventors and thinkers to life as your story's villains that I really like. Great artwork too
8. His & Her Circumstances- Probably the only reality-based show I've listed, heh. You'd think that you'd dislike most of the characters in real life but the show makes them actually extremely likeable. Also shows that a show without flashy animation and lots of internal dialogue can still be gripping.
9. Big O- Another show with style. How refreshing to have an android girl who isn't only interested in making the nearest male extremely happy.
10. Gigantor- Quicker than quick! Stronger than strong!
