Uhm...perhaps you're not from the states, but honestly I was a bit confused by your grammar..I think I know what you want though (I've bold what didn't make sense to me).

D'oh forgot to give suggestions:

TV Series
-Vision of Escaflowne - jack of all trades. Has something for everybody: action, drama, fantasy, mecha, comedy, great characters, great/epic story and so on. I highly recommend it.
-Neon Genesis Evangelion - On the surface a great (although at times confusing) mecha show. At the heart, a great character development show about a boy. His struggles, problems and triumph. I actually DON'T recommend to everyone. The story is at times convoluted and it's hard to get past that and see the "greatness" (well great IMO). Perhaps worth a try.
-Rurouni Kenshin - a great story about a samurai who has vowed not to kill again. He goes around protecting people. It sounds fairly simple, but story becomes really great/epic during the Kyoto Arc. Don't watch the Cartoon Network crap. I of course hate dubs, but even putting that aside, they cut out A LOT of it...to the point where it's not the same..i.e. enjoyable
-Cowboy Bebop - a great episodic (not a huge long story) about a group of bounty hunters hunting...bounties :). A different bounty every episode (with a few exceptions). I personally dont like episodic since it's like US cartoons, but they do it so well.

Movies
These are usually recommended universally:
-Akira - staple
-Ghost in the Shell - another staple
-Grave of the Fireflies - VERY sad, but probably my favorite anime movie. No action, no mecha, etc. Just a story about a boy, his sister and the hardships of war.
-Laputa: Castle in the Sky - Miyazaki's 2nd best work (next to Naussicaa for me, which hasn't been released and hence not on this list).
-Mononoke Hime - Another great Miyazaki (watch all of Miyazaki's works that are available in the states).
-Spirited Away - Miyazaki...again.
-Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro - Yup..Miyazaki

I'm fairly positive that you'll like something (if not most) out of this list :).

besides what dwchang has posted there are also these

TV series
Love hina - Romantic comedy, i liked this one a lot, you'd just have to see it.

Kare kano - Romantic Drama (very soap operaish, and can become pretty dry at times)

Trigun - Good action series, but it falls into the same pit as Cowboy bebop with the "villian-of-the-week" issues. But it dose take an interesting turn.

Hellsing - Great Action, one of my favorites for having such cool characters, but it's pretty short

Serial Experiments Lain - Psychological Drama/Suspense(?) - like eva this one can easily leave you behind as the story goes racing forward. A lot of questions of self existance and metaphysical arguments are brought up ... if you like psychology or philosophy go for it. This is also a short series, as far as i know. (i still havne't seen all of it though).

The Maxx - Surreal action - well it's not really anime ... it's an american cartoon based on a comic book. But it's pretty interesting, exspecialy for those with darker tastes.

Movies/OVA

FLCL - Action/comedy - this is one of my favorites, i highly recommend it, it also has great music and some interesting characters.

Ninja Scroll - Action - This is another of my firsts, i thought it was ok, this one has a tollerable dub to it.

hmmm, well besides that dwchang got to all the good movis that i've seen ... if you really want hentai ... many people say that kite is really good because all the sex in it actualy has a point.

Excellent, I wasn't sure how "into" anime you were, but you seem knowledgeable. Sorry about pointing out the grammar, but it's a petpeeve of mine when someone KNOWINGLY types like that :-P

lol, wings of homenease ... how could i forget that ... it ws on teletoon a few years ago. It's because they showed the attempted-rape scene that my parents think all anime is porn, like a good deal of the people in north america. lol because of 20 seconds of exposure too, thats pretty funny.

wait a min ... i thought it was spelled Honneamise ...bah, i know which one your talking about.
