The Maxx

Post by Propyro » Thu Mar 13, 2003 2:49 pm

Hmm, maybe this is a little off topic ... but dose any one know how many episodes of The Maxx there are? I was looking around on Kazaa and i only saw 13. I only saw parts of a few episodes when it was being aired on tv (my mother had went ape shit every time i tried to watch it), and i'm sure that they had to have more episodes then that. Wellt hanks for any help you guys can give me in advance.

Honestly I find it surprising that there were that many. The Maxx was a really short series. I don't know for certain how many episodes there were, but they released a compillation tape of the show and they all fit on one tape...

Actually, I've read all the comics and saw the whole show, although it was quite a while back. The animation followed the comics almost word-for-word in most places, but the final episode sort-of concluded everything in a big surrealist (more than usual) segment.

Probably one of the best pieces of animation ever to show up on MTV, IMHO.

Do *NOT* buy the home video of The Maxx. They cut out all the individual OP/ED sequences as well as other little pieces (you never hear lighthousekeeper on the official tape) to get it under 120 minutes.

Maybe I should make myself a nice SVCD set when I get my DVcam and firewire card. I've got it all off-air from MTV (commercials and all), so it'd be properly complete. Then again, I hate SVCD.

hmm, perhaps this wasn't as off topic as i thought .. but i jsut finishd watchign the first 2 episodes ... and i forgot jsut how weird the show is ... i like it ... the funny thing is, at this mall where i live, they have a store called ComicWorld, the outer day i jsut noticed that they had a resin sculpture of the maxx being attacked by a bunch of Iz's (how ever you spell their names)... thats what made me remember the series.
