But its not all from the Kabbalah. Lilith has a part in those texts, but Ive heard that much of what went into Evangelion was from The Dead Sea Scrolls, and from ACTUALLY REJECTED BOOKS like from the black bible (IE The Book Of Moses III)RadicalEd0 wrote:Ashton, the Kabbalah is not made out of rejected bible stories, its a completely separate book out of the 3 that were originally created. The bible was the literal events, the kabbalah was the mystical side of the events, and the other one i totally forget. Anyhow, when all the crap was collected for the bible back in whatever year, they had most of it. But lots of the kabbalah had been lost/misplaced/etc and couldnt be pulled into one collective Kabbalah deluxe collectors edition 2. You're right about it being harder to find and read but it definitely isnt any less legendary and religious than the bible just because its less commonly known.
Of course, Im not a theological scholar, and Im feeling a larger and larger iching to do some homework regarding Evangelion. its just too interesting to pass up, and too confusing to let go.

Eeek! Look what I just found out, this is hilarious!
"The tale of Lilith originates in a medieval work called "the Alphabet of Ben-Sira," a work whose relationship to the conventional streams of Judaism is, to say the least, problematic.
The unknown author of this work has filled it with many elements that seem designed to upset the sensibilities of traditional Jews. In particular, the heroes of the Bible and Talmud are frequently portrayed in the most perverse colours. Thus, the book's protagonist, Ben-Sira, is said to have issued from an incestuous union between the prophet Jeremiah and his daughter. Joshua is described as a buffoon too fat to ride a horse. King David comes across as a heartless and spiteful figure who secretly delights in the death of his son Absalom, while putting on a disingenuous public display of grief. The book is consistently sounding the praises of hypocritical and insincere behaviour."
This is from the page "http://www.acs.ucalgary.ca/~elsegal/Sho ... ilith.html" just in case your wondering. Im now totally confused!
