Ok, I think that's enough. At any rate, remember in the first episode when Shinji's sees the freaky Rei right before the Angel attacks and Misato rescues him? Well, in End of Eva, everybody ends up seeing Rei before they burst into LCL in the infamous "Kom Susser Tod" sequence. Although the Rei apparition turns into another character whom each person is associated with. Characters who are all dead by that time I might add. Such as Yui, Misato, and Ritsuko. So here's the speculation:

What if Misato didn't save Shinji? What if he's been dead the whole time, and the entire series is his version of Hell?

Just a thought. I might re-watch the entire series and EoE again and look for any evidence to support this theory.
